Shape of Water was a stupendously bad film.

It wasn't "up for awards" it won Best Picture, beating Three Billboards. In my view they were both really good so each to his own.

Just got back from seeing Vice this lunchtime

Id definitely recommend it.

I'm very stubborn and always watch films and programmes until the end even if they're shit.

Just lasted 30 mins with this and realised I'd actually rather cut my lunch short and do some work than watch any more.

Be amazed if anyone other than women and poofs like it and each to their own, but absolute pony and is clearly only winning awards because it ticks boxes in stead of actually being any good.

I watched Three Billboards at the weekend. Brilliant. They probably got that right last year anyway.

Turned it off after 40 mins.

Obviously very well shot but very very very boring.

Rhapsody was OK for family friendly fun but as drama on a supposed rock band is was painfully drab. Unless Queen really were that dull off stage.

Re: Roma wins best film at Bafta's ?????????
I had the unfortunate privilege of sitting through The Shape Of Water yesterday and can’t believe it was up for awards, absolute pony and not as realistic as the Thunderbirds puppets.

Re: Roma wins best film at Bafta's ?????????
I thought it was shit.

Also in retrospect Dunkirk was not nearly half as good as all the critics were saying it was.

Only seen Green Book, Rhapsody and a Star is Born of this year's big films and they've all been great.

That scene on the underground in Darkest Hour was obviously an attempt to get some awards as Best Comedy.
Enjoyed the film but that bit was mind bogglingly bad.

Really enjoyed Darkest hour although very nearly ruined by the scene on the underground train . Must have been solely aimed at the American market that part.

Nobody has rippling muscles or superhuman powers. Neither do they find redemption through a quest or have a big fight at the end with a baddie.

Re: Roma wins best film at Bafta's ?????????
I haven't seen it yet but it seems to be a Marmite type of film.

For me, a film/show needs decent characters for me to warm to it. Does Roma have this?

Beautiful film, really stunning. A worthy winner.
